Appreciation

Holy Helping Hands and Cannon House want to express our sincere and heart felt thanks to every one who supported our first joint fund raiser on March 21, 2009.  We had a sold out event.
Our dynamic speaker for the day was Judge Mablean Ephrim.  She received a standing ovation.  Her message was both soul stirring and awe inspiring.  This was evident by the numerous pairs of moist eyes in the room of over 250 people.  Judge Ephrim is a gifted speaker who truly connects with her audience;  she is engaging and holds the attention of everyone in the room.  Judge Mablean will always hold a special spot in our hearts; she helped to make our first event a phenomenal success!
We also want to thank the 2009 honorees for accepting their awards.  Captains Samuel Dacus and James Hellmold of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were the recipients for the Holy Helping Hands award.  A special thank you goes to Sheriff and Mrs. Lee Baca for their attendance.  Dr. Barbara McCoo-Lewis was the Cannon House award recipient.
We want to thank our Mistress of Ceremony Dr. Madre Paredes who kept the program running smoothly and timely.  Our event started precisely at 10:00 a.m. as printed on the tickets.  The people who are used to strolling in late to events were shocked to find that our event was in progress (when we say 10:00, we mean 10:00).
Aadditionally thanks to our hostesses (Vicki Stuckey, Cynthia Lee, Kim Barnett, Cynthia and Jennifer Smith)for making registration and check in flow smoothly.  Thanks to our vendors for having reasonable prices and for each donating an item to our raffle.
This was a collaborative effort which proves that Team Work Does Make the Dream Work!!
