US Soldier Support.  We sent gift packages to a unit of US soldiers stationed in Iraq.

September 2007
Members of Holy Helping Hands and WITNESS donating $1000.00 to Foster Elementary School in Compton, CA for school uniforms.

December 2005--2011 Christmas at the Veteran's Adminstration Westwood Hospital 

We partnered with N.C.N.W., Virtuous Women Sunday School Class, Girl Scout Troop #2435,Time Warner Cable Company and the Junior League to host an annual Christmas party for the verterans at the Westwood Hospital facility. At the parties we provided dinner and gifts to 100 plus veterans.

February 2009 -- February 2011
Participated in the Westwood VA Hospital Valentine's Day Party.  Provided dinner and games for the veterans.  A DJ provided music for dancing.



Additonal Events

Violet Book, Turning

June 2010
Donated over one hundred books to the Men's Central Jail for Books for Dads Program.  Inmate fathers read a childs book into a video camera and then give the book and the CD to their child to maintain a father-child bond while they are in jail.  
March 2009--2011 
Participated in Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day for three consecutive years.  In 2011, we participated at Longfellow Elementary School in Compton, CA.  In past years, we read to the kindergarten to fifth grade classes at Foster Elementary from such books as Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat and the Hat.  

May 2008 and 2009

Chaperoned a teen mothers class to Alvera Street for  the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration.  Additionally, we assisted with the VA Hospital's Memorial Day Carnival.  Provided refreshments and prizes. 

August 2008

Joint blood drive; Black Firefighters, Black Police Officers and Top Ladies of Distinction--Inglewood Chapter.  Pictured is Mrs. Kim-Delay-Manning from TLOD.

Halloween:  October 2008--2011

Annual Halloween Party at the Westwood V.A. Hospital.  Each year has gotten better.  A great time was had by all.  Dinner was served and then the dancing ensued.  The vets and the volunteers always have a wonderful time.
