Holy Helping Hand Activities

In this column we may review past HHH events and how successful each of them was. For example, on Thanksgiving Day 2008 we collaborated with The Top Ladies of Distinction--Inglewood Chapter at St. Bridgid's Catholic Church in Los Angeles, CA. to help feed lunch to the homeless. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and one we hope to do again for Christmas 2008.

H.O.P.E.'S Closet (Helping Other People Excel)

We are in the process of bringing H.O.P.E.'S Closet to fruition.  It is currently under construction.  We anticipate that it should be completed by May 2009.   H.O.P.E.'s closet will provide two interview appropriate outfits to job applicants who are seriously seeking employment.  To that end, we are working closely with Employment Specialist Mrs. Eileen Arthur.  Mrs. Arthur will ensure that the applicants will be qualified and prepared to interview for employment positions.

We will be accepting women and men's clothing (clean, pressed and on hangers).  We are also accepting financial donations.  Barring no additional construction set-backs, we anticipate being ready to accept clothing donations the third week in May 2009.  Please call 1(800) 550-9137 for pickup.  For tax purposes, receipts will be provided.
